We're deep into Thanksgiving weekend here. This afternoon we're going to a friend's house to burn off the Thanksgiving feast with a rousing game of soccer. A team of parents will play a team of six-year-old boys. Place your bets on the six-year-olds.
If you're anything like us, you have a lot of things to do over the next few weeks. So I will keep this week's edition of Fun Friday short, limited to an event I will be attending myself.
Next Wednesday, December 1, Belinda Tato will give a lecture, "Madrid—Urban Social Design" at the Instituto Cervantes in Chicago. The lecture is part of the series Restoring, Regenerating, Rethinking: The Urban Transformation of Madrid, Barcelona, & Bilbao, sponsored by the Instituto Cervantes and MAS Studio. Tato is a principle member of the Ecosistema Urbano, an architecture and design agency specializing in sustainable design solutions for urban environments. Their best-known project is the Eco Boulevard in Vallecas, a working-class section of Madrid. Join me at 6 PM next Wednesday for the lecture. More information here.
